The event involves canvassing around Portland on Halloween--in costume, of course!--to encourage people to vote in the upcoming election. There is also a very cool after party planned for participants that features great local bands such as Blind Pilot. If you care about the methodology, it is very well thought out. There is a bunch of research about how a knock on the door is the most effective way to raise voter participation rates (among others, http://research.yale.edu/GOTV/), and what day are people actually expecting a knock? Halloween! There will also be a random sampling of precincts after the event to measure the effectiveness of our efforts.
